Does excluding woman from special forces violate the 5th amendment and the 14th amendment? Does excluding woman from special forces violate the 5th amendments due process clause and the 14th amendments equal protection clause. She ia an honors graduate from west point military academy. She graduated in the top ten percent of her class. She meets all the requirements to be in the special forces. She has passed all physical and phycological asessments of the men that enter special forces. She has done everything that could be expected. The only reason she is not being allowed to enter the special forces is based on her gender.
Is having a family discouraged within special forces units? When selecting people for special forces occupations, is whether they are married or have kids a factor for selection? Is having a family and kids discouraged? It would probably be hard for families with a father in the special forces, right? If there are people in the special forces with families, are they allowed to tell them that they are going on missions?
What is the difference between military elites and special forces? I noticed that books specializing on military subjects call the U.S.M.C.,the 101st Airborne Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, the British Parachute Regiment, the Royal Marines, and the French Foreign Legion and other amphibious assault, paratrooper, and Air Mobile assault units military elites but not special forces. So what is a military elite and what seperates them from special forces? I mean what seperates a SAS commando or Navy Seal from a US Marine and 82nd Paratrooper or French Foreign Legionnaire?
How can i9 become a special forces medic if im in the National Guard? I just recenlt enlisted in the Virginia National Guard with the mos of a 68w. What is the Special Forces and how does someone get in? Alright, first off what is the special forces(i know its part of the army), how do i get in, how long would the total process take from start of enlistment to end. What is the name of the special forces team Michael Vickers was a part of? In the book Charlie Wilson's War, Crile describes Vickers as being part of a twenty man special forces team tasked with vulnerability assessment of embassies and other us locations. Part of their job is to go in ahead of Delta Force and work as military advisors to the ambassador in the event of a hostage incident. Does anyone know the name of the unit he's describing? Yeah thanks! I'm pretty sure It's not FOXHOUND and if you're going to post a link make sure the information is actually there.
What should I do on the Academic side of becoming Army Special Forces? I'm currently in the Air Force and looking at switching branches and joining the Army. I am in top physical shape and can excel at any physical standards they throw at me. Unfortunately I'm not the best academically. So, I was trying to get more information on what I should study before I cross over to help me for the academic portions of Army Special Forces training. I have no idea where to start and have never seen any information about it. So what should I study to better my self for my future in pursuing an Army Special Forces career? Thanks.
What type of physical condition is required to join the special forces? I'm not familiar with the various military programs available, but am particularly curious about the special forces. What sorts of things can one do on a day-to-day basis to prepare for joining such a cohort? Where can I go to do a preliminary testing of my intellectual and physical capabilities, as to assess, on a tentative basis, my odds of success? Details would be much appreciated. Thanks
Why do some women want to join the marines and special forces in combat roles? I have come to accept males are much stronger and faster than women and I don't think women should be in combat roles in the marines or special forces. I don't think any woman could handle it since the military already takes the strongest and most fit men for the special forces. Looking at it realistically, since the special forces only take the best, I dont think there is any female that would make it. The strongest men will easily beat out the strongest women.
What do you think of my list of top special forces in the world? 1 . Israeli Shayetet 13 - brilliant in the recent raid on the terrorist flotilla armed, which was carrying people armed to the teeth. 2 . Israeli Sayeret Matkal 3 . Israeli Duvdevan Unit 4 . Yahalom (IDF) 5 . Israeli Shaldag Unit 6 . Israeli Egoz Reconnaissance Unit 7 . SEALs 8 . Delta Force 9 . Green Berets 10. SAS - Not half as good as an Israeli special forces unit but OK at some operations.
What can I do mentally to prepare for special forces? Im going to try for special forces when I turn 20, I know I probably wont make it, but i want to anyway. What should i expect? what should i do to prepare? I am already in the army, i ship in august for basic training, I scored like a 131 in my GT score on the asvab so im good there.
How long does it take to enter into Special Forces? My boyfriend is turning 18 in June. He wants so bad to enter into the Special Forces. He hasn't told me much about it, like the details. All he said was he would be gone for 2 years & the whole time he was gone I wouldn't get to talk to him at all. Is this really true? I know he wouldn't lie to me, but it seems unlikely that it would be 2 years before I could talk to him again. I trust him. I was just curious.
How could i get all the training i need to join the special forces? How would i able to take the tests that are required in order to join the special forces? And volunteer for airborne training? If I am 20 years old and just in need to take the tests to join. How and where could i take them? ANd if i am eligible after do i just apply online or go to a recruiter?
How much time will a Special Forces Officer be in the field? At what rank will a Special Forces officer stop going on combat missions. I know you have to be at least a Captain when you join once I become a Major will I have a desk job and no longer go on missions? And if I stop at a Major how long would it take to get from Captain to Major?
What are the chances of death or serious injury in the army special forces? My brother is currently training to become a Green Beret in the Army Special Forces. I am somewhat worried but am very proud of his service and dedication to this country, but I was wondering what the odds are of army green berets dying or being seriously injured in service. Thank you for your help.
What is the best United States Special Forces? I am a high school junior and i'm looking into joining the military. I want to be in special forces and would like to know what is best, toughest, most bada** special forces in the United States today. Whether it be green beret, SEAL, recon, or air force I want to know which is the best, hands down, and an explanation as to why would be very helpful.
Which military branch should i join for the special forces? I want to try to join the special forces that does the most HALO jumps and sabotauge. I would also like to be a sniper in what ever special forces branch i go to. Please tell me which branch (Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Green Berets, etc.) and also please tell me what the recomendations are. Also please tell me what i have to do when i sign up to try to join this.
Why are there so many US Army Special Forces personal compared to Rangers? There are around 4,500 US Army Special Forces personal and around 2,500 Rangers, i would have expected that there would be less people in US Army Special Forces. Is this because there are a lot of intelligence personal? I thought that US Army Special Forces training was longer and more difficult than Ranger training. So why are there more US Army Special Forces operatives than Rangers?
Can an officer apply for training in special forces in the US army? I am going to be a college graduate and am looking to join the military. I am considering two options, one being entering OCS school and the other pursuing a ranger contract with the Army in hopes of training to be an army ranger. Nevertheless, despite the difficulty, I would like to try and enter special forces. My question is can an OCS school graduate then pursue a pathway to becoming a ranger? Is this even logical, ie. should I just pursue a ranger career from the get go? Thanks in advance.
How long does it take to become an Army Ranger or Special Forces out of ROTC? I understand that there is no guarantee of being accepted, but assuming everything goes well, how long would it take to join the Army Rangers or Special Forces after completing ROTC? How long would one serve in the (regular) Army before becoming one of the two? I know you have to be in perfect physical shape. I am just wondering from the time I graduate from school, how long (assuming everything plays out perfectly) it would take to become a Ranger or Green Beret.
Is there a Marine special forces where I can be a weapons specialist? I am looking to join the military when I get out of highschool or possibly after college. I wish to go to the naval academy. Thats besides the point. I first wanted to join the Marines, But do they have a special forces where I can be a wepons specialist because that is somthing I am interested in. Any feedback is thankfull.
Which is more honorable, the army, the army special forces or the marines? I am planning on getting my engineering degree and then joining either the army or the marines. If I joined the army, I try to become a ranger right away. I am not sure what the marines offer as far as special forces go. Could someone with some insight give me some idea as far as the short term and long term differences of the two branches? Information on pay and career benefits would also be helpful. Thanks.
What Special Forces branch should I join? I am a 17 year old high school student and I am going to join the military. I just want to know what each branch of the militarys special forces do, and how hard each one is.
Is special forces worth going to if your married? Going special forces has always been a dream of mine. But that was before i was married. My wife is not a big fan of the war and doesnt belive i need to persue this. She will stand behind me if i decide to go. But will be unhappy about my decision. So is special forces really worth going if your married?
what do i need to focus on to be a special forces engineer? i am in tenth grade and i am in an introduction to engineering class. i have found strong interest in this field and have always been interested in pursuing a career in the military. what kind of engineering dose one need to focus on in order to be an interest to the special forces? i know that special forces teams are small and a skill in something like communications, medical, and engineering are key in order to be on one but i just wondered if anyone knew what type of engineering this might be.
Can a South African Join The Special Forces of Countries Like the US and Britain? Okay, I've read it all. My family my dad above are British, so I'll have no problem getting citizenship there. But the question is can I join the Special Forces? I've read that you'd have to only be that country's resident, and can't have "dual citizenship" due to security clearance and stuff like that. Is this true for all countries, or are some just picky etc. Answers from people with a bit of experience please.
What do the Army Rangers do opposed to Army Special Forces? I hear that the Rangers are more of a light infantry seeing a significant amount of combat, while the Special Forces are more concerned with foreign internal defense and humanitarian causes. Also, please have first or second hand experience. I can look up stuff on google too... Okay perhaps another way to ask this would who's doing more of what right now? Are Special Forces really seeing that much combat in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Looking for a job like special forces but not connected to the military? I have always been interested in special forces and all the cool missions they do. My dilemma is that I dont have this strong 100% feeling yet to commit to the military. I am wondering if there are jobs out there that include cool missions like covert operations and such that are not tied to the military. For example Counter terrorism teams maybe in the government, etc. If you know of any please post the job title and the agency, employer, etc. Thanks and hope you all can understand this question. I already know all about SWAT teams so please dont post them as one. I'm trying to stay more into the government area but if you know of any state/local jobs like I described thats good too. Thanks again. For all of you focused entirely on the word "cool" as I used to describe covert missions rather than the question itself you must first understand the meaning of cool and where im coming from. First of all "cool" is a slang word. Secondly it means excellent, superlative, great. And lastly when I use "cool" to describe missions I am speaking in terms of jumping out of planes, the specific equipment selected and used during the mission, and the covertness used in the mission. Sorry for your misunderstanding of the word "cool". It has different meanings to different people because it is a slang word. Remember that folks.
Who can tell me about Army Special Forces? I'm interested in the Special Forces postions in the Army. I would love to hear from someone who's been in it or a close family member. I've already gone through MEPS and passed the physical and have high ASVAB scores. No college to speak of and I'm 29. Yeah, maybe this sounds crazy, but I'd like to hear from you all about this unique section of the military. Thank you for your help, again.
How does one join the National Guard Special Forces Groups? OK, I know that the National Guard has two Special Forces Groups, the 19th and 20th SFG's. What I'd like to know is how do you join SF through the NG? Do you have to already have been SF qualified in the regular Army or can you do it within th NG? If i'm not being clear enough, just ask me. For that matter, what about Rangers and Sniper Squad? BTW I am a male. This is my GF's profile.
Who Are The Best Special Forces In The World? Who Are The Best Special Forces In The World ? British and Australian SAS & SBS ? P.S People are saying this is a pointless question, well if thats how you feel don't answer it and jog on ! I want to know who you think is best, and not all can be the best !
Why do people think Special Forces are the best fighters? Usually people who don't know much about fighting try to argue with me that special forces are top of the line hand-to-hand fighters! But the reality is that special forces practice the basic hand-to-hand fighting techniques. Instead they focus more on weapons, inflitration, scouting, and surviving off the land/water etc. My point is when it comes to hand-to-hand a experienced MMA guy for example can easily beat a special force guy in a one-on-one fight with no weapons involved. And don't talk shit about Special Force guys know eye gauging, hitting the groin etc. Because EVERYONE has it in them to use those techniques WHETHER they train those moves or not! A martial artist of anyone style could resort to using the same "street" techniques! Agree or disagree? Shooter, Are you a retard! I said a MMA guy vs. a Special Force guy IN A FIGHT WITH NO WEAPONS! How is that unfair for the Special force guy? That fact is DUMB people like you are the reason why people think Special Force guys are the best hand-to-hand fighters! Petro, Your another stupid idiot! What makes you losers think that a MMA fighter can't kill someone in a street fight! You people are useless morons! You answer shows a lack of understanding what real fightiers are! Petro, You are another dumb idiot! Your answer shows your lack of understanding what a real fighter is! A MMA fighter could kill someone on the street you fairy!
Would a surgeon attached to a Special Forces unit have to be SF qualified? I was reading an article that said the following in a contributor's biography: "served as a Special Forces Battalion Surgeon with the 5th Special Forces Group." My Question: For this person to do that job, they obviously have to be a surgeon, but do they have to go thru the same selection process as Special Forces soldiers or is it not required of medical personnel attached to the unit? Thank you ahead of time for intelligent answer/answers.
Can I get Special Forces training without joining the military? I'm taking Krav Maga. Which is a martial arts used by the IDF army and special forces. I was wondering if there is a full training that does not commit to the military?? I'm asking this question because I'm thinking of going to live to my home country, Colombia. And I would like to help my country rid of the violence and the Guerrillas there. (Fuking weird Idea... right???) But whateva, I would like to see if there is a training of special forces without committing me to service. Thank you.
special forces question that i cant seem to find an answer to? I don't want to join Special Forces, but I was reading about them and it made me think of something. If you can enlist as an 18x after college, and make it all the way through. Then what would happen if after your enlistment you wanted to attend OCS? If you have to be an O-2 promotable to O-3, then does that mean you can no longer serve as a green beret until you rank up?
Is there any way to go straight into special forces? What exactly is special forces. I want to join the military but not like the infantry, I want to something a little more subtle and static instead of patrolling burning streets all day. Something more in the area of marksman.
How do Danish and Norwegian special forces? compare to say US or British or Australian or Israeli special forces. Ive read that Danish special forces have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Must be good enough. And that Norwegian special forces were so proficient at their duties they receieved a medal from Bush. Do you think combat missions in afghanistan show the true test of Danish and Norwegian special forces?
What would be the best MOS to get into to prepare me for special forces army or marines? I got a 97 on the asvab and my recruiter thought that intel would be good or something alike that but I really want to see combat. I wouldn't feel right not being in the action and not actually 'fighting'. but I would like to go special forces and he told me about the 18X option which basically lets you try out. but I don't think I'm physically ready for that just yet. so I'd like to know what job would best prepare me for special forces!

What special forces training is the toughest? OK, I know that the special forces have lots of criteria: be smart, speak a bunch of languages, be mentally tough, etc. From a pure physical sense, however, what training is the toughest, and why? Thanks.
Who honestly thinks American Special Forces are better than the SAS/SBS ? I have seen American "special" Forces fall over branches or stand on twigs and bring down the wrath of the enemy. Their worst side is refusing to talk in local lingo and attracting the suspicions of the locals. American special forces couldn't beat my Granny in a fight. My niece and her friends make less noise than a bunch of yankee special forces soldiers. It is all toooo easy to defend against them. They have NO clue how to recce and fight. Give me the German (ironic, I know I know ) special forces any day. Now they are tough but cool and intelligent cookies. Unlike the Yank "Let's blow everything up and kill everything in sight regardless of whom they are" special forces. I thought my point was obvious. The Yanks are creating more trouble than fixing with their "special" forces and don't start me on the regular army. The stories I could tell you about the stupid antics of American Rangers or Delta Morons from personal experience. The biggest issue is they have NO interest in the locals...that is their first and usually the last mistake. Did I give any details of ops you total MORON. I am not stupid. Drunk, yes, from a bad op that included you bunch of total idiots but i am NOT stupid. NO details and yes they are monitored from my base. It is called Intranet Security. Maybe you guys never heard of it like "Hearts and Minds" and "Not killing everything in site".
What are my chances of getting into Rangers/Special Forces? I got a 93 on the ASVAB and look at the PT test that the Army issues, the one based on the perfect score of 300, and I could get 280. Also I'm going into ROTC and finishing college at the University of Kentucky getting a BS in Biology. There's one hitch I'm low degree red/green colorblind, meaning I can't see certain shades of red and green. I recenlty found out that if you can see vivid reds and greens then you can do the whole airborne, Rangers, Special Forces, thing. I've wanted to be a Ranger my whole life and would also like to be Special Forces if anyone knows anybody that's been in either and can help.
US Army Special Forces martial arts VS modern boxing in a street fight? I bet a Green Beret will easily kill the current heavyweight champion in modern boxing before the champion could even throw a punch in a street fight!Army Special Forces Martial Arts Rule!It includes Judo,Jujitsu, kicking, and wrestling techniques!Boxing Does not!Modern Boxing sucks!Modern Boxing is for sissies who can`t fight!US Army Special Forces martial arts are the real man`s martial art!modern Boxing sucks!
