  1. join the army
  2. Learn a foreign language now.. Enlist into the Army in the infantry.. Prove you can make it there..and then request to try out for Special Forces.. SF is only a Army unit by the way..
  3. Well if you want Special Forces as in Green Beret, then yes, learn a foreign language, ect. There is a Special Forces enlistmnt option too. But apart from that, in the field of Special Operations there are Navy SEALs, Air Force Pararescue, Marine Force Recon, and, what I want to do, Army Rangers. You have to be selected for Force Recon, and already in the Army/Navy and volunteer for Rangers/SEALs, but I'm not sure about Pararescue as far as enlistment goes. Do some research on your own or talk to a recruiter.
  4. first u join the army. the requirments can be found at ur recuters office.martial arts are not required. second language skills are favored.
  5. You can come off the 'street' and go direct enlistment: SOPC or wait to go later after you've been in a while a volunteer of SFAS (Selection). Off the Street: Training for a Special Forces Soldier takes place over many phases and courses. Phases and Courses SOPC (Special Operations Preparatory Course) This is a 30-day course taught at Fort Bragg that helps Soldiers who are recruited from the 'street' — and not coming from the Army already'to complete the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course. It focuses on physical training and one of the most important skills a SF Soldier can have: land navigation. This course does not guarantee you will pass the selection process described next. This is 24 days of training like you've never experienced — and it's all about survival. Your intelligence, agility and resourcefulness will all be tested. If you make it, you can continue on to the SF Qualification Course. The SFQC consists of five phases (II-VI). If you complete this training, you will be a Special Forces Soldier — one of the Army's experts in unconventional warfare. INDIVIDUAL SKILL The Individual Skill Phase (II) consists of land navigation, small unit tactics and live-fire training. MOS TRAINING During the MOS Training Phase (III) you will be instructed on your specialty skills, which will be based on your background, aptitude and interests. COLLECTIVE TRAINING This phase (IV) consists of Special Forces doctrine and organization, Unconventional Warfare Operations, Direct Action Operations, Methods of Instruction and both Airborne and Airmobile Operations. You will deploy to the Uwarrie National Forest, North Carolina, for an unconventional warfare exercise. There you will perform as a member of the Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) team, and your specialty and common skills will be evaluated. LANGUAGE TRAINING After you've become a SF Soldier, you are required to take language training (Phase V). Languages learned can range from romance languages like Spanish, to more difficult one-year courses in Arabic or Korean. The Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) course will complete your training in the SFQC (Phase VI). As an SF Soldier, you might receive training that completely immerses you in another culture. You'll learn to be fluent in that country's language, customs and traditions becoming a virtual citizen of that country. http://www.goarmy.com/ListJobsByGroup.do?id=25&fw=special_forces_training&redirect=true Volunteering after your in the military: The recruitment criteria listed below are valid as of the time of construction of this Web page. Speaking to a recruiter will provide you with the most current information on prerequisites. The following criteria is required for all applicants (officers and enlisted): Must be an active duty male Soldier. Must be U.S. citizen (non-waiverable). Must be airborne qualified or volunteer for airborne training. Must score a minimum of 229 points on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), with no less than 60 points on any event, using the standards for age group 17-21. Must be able to meet medical fitness standards as outlined in AR 40-501. Must be eligible for a "SECRET" security clearance (security clearance is not required to attend SFAS). No Soldier, regardless of Military Occupational Specialty or basic branch will be recruited if he is unable to reclassify from his current MOS or basic branch into CMF 18. All Soldiers will be given a 50 meter swim assessment, conducted in uniform, during SFAS to determine whether they have the aptitude to learn how to swim. After you do SFAS, you follow the same pipleline, minus the SOPC. http://www.bragg.army.mil/specialforces/Application.htm http://www.bragg.army.mil/specialforces/sf_training_overview.htm#What_are_the_Special_Forces_MOSs__
  6. Here are a few jobs with the SF. Medic, Weapons Specialist, EOD Specialist, Communications Specialist, Here's a link. http://www.alguard.state.al.us/20th/MOS.htm Get an excellent GT score from your ASVAB test. Enlist for an MOS for one of the SF jobs. You can even go infatry but you will get better results already having one of the MOS's. Good luck.
