Can police officers by force, assault or battery make you to change your route in a demonstration?

In peaceful demonstration, can member of the police force make you to change your direction by battery or using force?

1. If its pre-planned then id say that they would have to have a good reason to do so. Otherwise of course. They are the Police!
2. Nobody should be allowed to assault your batteries, not even the police *grin*
3. Yes they can make you go where they want you to go using no more force than is necessary.
4. It's all about reasonable force my friend - there will come a point in any demonstration, peaceful or not that the Police may have to use force - Its all about how reasonable that force is...
5. Fortunately the Police determine pretty much the boundaries of the demonstation. Oversee your boundaries and you ass is kicked.
6. We have all seen that they do just that. The G20 protest proved that. I don't know why they did that. Perhaps they think it's good to be ripped off by banks
